Why Artists Create Portrait Painting

Artists create artwork for several reasons. Some are part of their hobby. Other would make it a part of their job. And there are others who create portrait paintings for personal reasons.

Nowadays, artists make a living out of their creations. They sell portrait painting to a client in order for them to pay their rent or to support their everyday needs. Some part of the income is also used to buy painting materials so they can create their next set of artworks.

As a form of expression, some portrait artists create portrait paintings in order to create themselves. Through portrait paintings, the artist realizes who he really is. Eventually, his creation becomes an effective way to show the artist who he is becoming.
