RFID technology and Food Packaging Machines

RFID devices as applied to food packaging machines often serve the same purpose as a bar code or a magnetic strip like you would find on the back of a credit card. Basically it provides a unique identifier for that particular object. To get the information from the RFID tag it must first be scanned. However, a huge advantage of RFID is that the RFID device does not have to actually be in contact with the object, or even very close to it.
