Hickory Hardwood Floors: Why You Should Scour Old, Abandoned Properties

Do you have any older, abandoned properties in your area. Many people do - and they can be a goldmine. A friend of mine recently went through an abandoned home - must have been about 100 years old. On the 3rd floor he found a room with hickory hardwood floors. It was dusty and dirty, but no matter. He got his wife and older children together, took some tools along, and pulled off that flooring. He packed it up in his pickup truck, and they took it all home. They were able to clean and refinish the flooring — saving them a pile of money. And the floor (now in their kitchen) looks just great! So, keep your eyes peeled - there may be a bargain in that old building down the road.
